In the world of War craft, mining is used to extract gems, ore and stone from mineral deposits, which are found throughout the realm.
Certain skills are paired with mining. These skills are Blacksmithing, Engineering and jewel crafting. These skills allow the selling metals and stone at the auction hall. It is always advantageous to have mining when acquiring these skills. Rather mine your own materials than having to purchase them from the auction hall.
Two additional skills come with mining, namely smelting and find minerals. Smelting allows the player to convert ore and minerals into usable metals while the Find Mineral stills reflects nearby mineral deposits on the mini-map
In order to start mining, a mining pick will need to be purchased from a vendor.
